What is the Important Message from Medicare (IMM)?
Each time you are admitted for a
hospital stay, you have many papers to read and sign. One of the most
important papers you will receive as a Medicare beneficiary explains
your rights while you are a hospital patient and your hospital
discharge appeal rights. This is An
Important Message from Medicare About Your Rights. You or a
family member should keep this paper available at all times when you
are in the hospital. It explains your rights to receive all necessary
care and to be fully informed of all decisions made regarding your
hospital stay.
During your hospital stay, the hospital staff will be working with you to prepare for your safe discharge. If you feel that you are being discharged too soon, this form will have instructions to assist you if you wish to appeal your discharge. Included in the Message is North Dakota Health Care Review, Inc.'s helpline number and address. We are available to assist you whenever you feel you are not getting the quality of care you deserve, if you have any questions or concerns about any hospital services or if you feel that you are being discharged too soon.
