DOCTORS’ OFFICE QUALITY–INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
As part of our commitment to improving health care,
North
Dakota Health Care Review, Inc. (NDHCRI) is promoting the use of health
information technology in the physician practice setting. Health care
providers across the country recognize the benefits of electronic
health records, as do the Institute of Medicine, the American Academy
of Family Physicians and the American College of Physicians. Health
information technology systems that enhance access to patient
information, adopt patient-clinician communication and promote the use
of decision support and reference data hold the promise of improving
the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare delivery.
As the state's Medicare quality improvement organization (QIO), NDHCRI contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to protect and improve the quality of health care provided to North Dakota's Medicare beneficiaries. As a part of this work, NDHCRI is participating in the Doctor's Office Quality Information Technology (DOQ-IT) project sponsored by CMS.
DOQ-IT is a national project designed to improve patient outcomes by promoting the adoption of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and health Information Technology (IT). Practices that participate in DOQ-IT will receive free assistance to select, implement, and optimize IT systems such as EHRs, e-prescribing, and registries.
How will NDHCRI support DOQ-IT
participants?
Throughout the project North Dakota Health Care
Review (NDHCRI)
will provide the following FREE of charge to participating practices:
