Physician Reviewers provide case specific review for determination of appropriate setting, DRG assignment, and quality of care. Case Review Coordinators assess the chart to determine if documentation and ancillary data support the diagnosis. When supporting documentation and quality of care may indicate the need for further determination, the record is sent to a Physician Reviewer for his/her medical expert input. Review is accomplished by physicians that are employed by NDHCRI. Whenever possible, Physician Reviewers have the same licensure and practice in the same setting and specialty as the initial provider of care.
NDHCRI requires a dynamic and dedicated physician review staff. Any physicians in North Dakota that would be interested in providing record review are invited to contact NDHCRI at 701-852-4231 or fill out this Physician Reviewer Application form and fax to 701-838-6009 or mail to NDHCRI, 800 31st Ave. SW, Minot, ND 58701.
